Why are we the value printer?
If you need less than 100 copies, a photocopy machine will be the most economical. If you need over 10,000 copies, an offset press at one of our local offset printers is possibly going to be the most economical. Anything in between, Blue Planet is the best value. Not only do we offer the best pricing, we print with real ink; soy based and environmentally friendly. There is a big difference between photocopy/laser toner and real ink and people can tell. Why put up with cheap photocopies when you can have real ink for less money?

A Risograph is a modern version of the mimeograph. Our two Risograph FR-2950ui's look like large photocopy machines but do not work with toner. They print with real ink. The ink is soy-based so it is environmental friendly and safe. Because we use real ink, you can then take your print job and send it through a laser or inkjet printer for personalization and other purposes. There are no worries. The primary thing though is that ink looks great and photocopies look like flat grey... well, photocopies. Photocopies just scream cheap!

We can print up to 130 sheets per minute on each machine. Unlike most photocopy machines, we can print up to 8.5x14 and as small as 4x6 inches. We can print 110 lb. card stock that will never go through any photocopy machine nor would it work in most laser and inkjet printers. The Risograph sends the paper straight through, it does not have to wrap around small rollers like most copy, laser and inkjet machines.

Our machines print at 400x400dpi which is very high resolution. We can enlarge or reduce your originals on the machine from 50% to 200%. and the machines will handle originals up to 11x17 inches. The machines can also print on 11x17 inch paper but the image area is limited to 8.5x14.

At this moment we offer black ink, bright red, hunter green, and medium blue. Gold is coming soon. In the near future we will offer additional colors such as purple, brown and marine blue. The ink color in the Risograph can be changed in one minute by pulling out an ink drum and inserting a new color.

For example, we can print 1,000 to 2,000 copies of a menu to go, 8.5x14 inches, both sides, and folded with your choice of color for only 10 cents each. 8.5x11 Just 9 cents each. Add a second color for only 4 cents per side or 6 cents for a second color both sides. (Based on camera ready copy.) Have your menus stick out from the crowd!

OfficeMax [Key West] charges 15 cents each for a photocopy job described above. Why pay 50% more for black and white photocopies when you can have real ink in color?

Need Full Color Laser Printing?
Need FULL COLOR printing? Check out full color copies at OfficeMax at 49 cents each or 98 cents double-sided and then come to us with your computer files where you will spend only 36 cents per color copy. We offer full color laser printing for much less on our HP 4600 Color LaserJet. This workgroup printer is rated for 85,000 copies per month.

The Winter edition is printed on our Risographs.

Blue Planet Offices also produces the Key West Family Coupon book with this and additional equipment twice a year. The KWFC book is the only advertising media aimed at local residents distributed door to door. Our winter edition is now being distributed.

Currently we are a home based business. The photographs show some of the equipment used for the Key West Family Coupon Book, promotional and other products we produce. All production is done in-house.
